Meet Our Founder

Dr Jennifer Smith graduated from King’s College London in 2013 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, building a strong foundation in anatomy, patient care, and aesthetic medicine.

After more than 13 years in healthcare, firsthand experiences with injury and professional burnout led her to reflect more deeply on the impact that chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, and modern lifestyles can have on energy, skin, hair, emotional well-being, and overall health.

Wanting to better understand and improve her own health led her towards more integrated approaches to wellbeing, alongside studying past societies, cultures, and traditional healing practices. It also sparked growing frustration with healthcare approaches that often focus on managing symptoms rather than understanding the broader factors that affect health in the first place.

As part of this journey, she began blending clinical knowledge with the therapies, practices, and approaches that genuinely helped her heal.

Experiencing the positive impact these approaches had on her own health and wellbeing became a large part of what inspired her to create ŌRIUM, a space that brings together modern medicine, ancient wisdom, and a more connected approach to health and healing.

Meet Dr Jennifer Smith

Meet Orium's Founder

Dr Jennifer Smith graduated from King’s College London in 2013 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, providing a strong clinical foundation in facial anatomy, function, and patient care. She has been practising dentistry for over 13 years and has worked in facial aesthetics since 2017, alongside ongoing postgraduate training in aesthetic and regenerative medicine.

Her work is shaped by an understanding of the face as a functional system, influenced by structure, muscle activity, skin quality, and ageing over time. Rather than focusing solely on surface changes, Dr Smith takes a long-term, medical approach to facial ageing, recognising how patterns of movement, stress physiology, and biological change contribute to how the face looks and functions.

Alongside her clinical practice, she is developing Mode by Orium, a body of research investigating how internal states and cognitive patterns influence biological signalling, adaptation, and the trajectory of ageing.

Her approach is grounded in careful assessment and ethical clinical judgement, ensuring treatments are purposeful and aligned with long-term facial health.

Meet Dr Jennifer Smith

After 13 years in dentistry and traditional aesthetic medicine, I became increasingly frustrated by approaches that focused on isolated concerns rather than the person as a whole.

My own experiences with stress and its effects on the body, skin, and hair led me to explore a more integrative approach to health, one that recognises the connection between the nervous system, wellbeing, and how we heal and regenerate.

This shift led to the creation of ŌRIUM a modern space for integrative wellness, blending modern medicine with traditional healing practices and whole-person care.

At ŌRIUM, skin and self-care are viewed as reflections of overall health, approached through a blend of medicine, nervous system awareness, and practices inspired by cultures around the world.

Six weeks after completing the first stage of her skin rejuvenation treatment plan using polynucleotides (Rejuran), with particular improvement noted in the peri-ocular region.

Notice the softening of fine lines and improved skin quality, especially through the under-eye area where early signs of ageing often appear. Polynucleotides support skin repair and are well suited to delicate areas of the face. Not everyone wants or is suited to invasive treatments with downtime, and this highlights how non-surgical, regenerative approaches can still deliver meaningful results.

Botulinum toxin therapeutic uses at Orium

We offer botulinum toxin for selected therapeutic indications involving patterns of muscular overactivity affecting the face, jaw, neck, shoulders, and upper body.

Use is guided by consultation and clinical assessment, with consideration of contributing factors beyond the presenting area. Where appropriate, onward referral may be recommended.
